Settings reference

Preferences live in settings.json in the data folder. The app writes it; you may edit it while the app is closed. Secrets are never in this file: provider API keys are in the operating-system keychain and the local API token is in its own file.

Keys worth knowing

Key	Meaning
`detection.auto_record_apps`	Apps allowed to record without the prompt. Empty by default; the app asks before adding one.
`detection.auto_stop_grace_s`	Seconds to wait after the meeting app releases the microphone before stopping.
`prompt.auto_dismiss_s`	How long the confirm card stays before dismissing itself. `0` keeps it open until answered.
`prompt.cooldown_min`	After you answer a prompt, minutes before the same app is asked again.
`capture.keep_audio`	`7d`, `30d`, `90d`, `forever` or `never` (delete after transcription). Longer than 30 days requires Pro.
`transcription.model`	A model id from the picker, or the file name of a compatible GGML file placed in `models/`.
`ai.provider`	`ollama`, `anthropic` or `openai`. Keys for the last two are stored in the keychain, not here.
`privacy.encrypt_db`	Encrypts `recordist.db` with SQLCipher and a passphrase you choose. Offline gateway reads then need the passphrase too.
`general.allow_remote_start`	Lets the local API, MCP and A2A start a recording or import a file. Off by default.
`general.api_port`	Optional. Moves the local API off 47321 if the port is taken; the gateway reads the same value.

Settings that are not in this file (speaker names, templates, meeting tags) are stored in the database.
