Supernormal is a cloud notetaker aimed at teams that want structured notes pushed into a CRM. Its notetaker bot joins Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams; for Google Meet there is also a Chrome extension that records the tab without a bot. Notes follow templates for sales calls, customer success and hiring, and sync to HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive.
Recordist covers the recording and notes on your own computer, with templates of its own, but it does not sync to a CRM and it does not put anything in the cloud. It adds two things Supernormal does not have: a Prep Brief before each call and local agent access over MCP and A2A.

The bot
By default Supernormal joins your calendar meetings as a bot, which appears in the roster and needs admitting. The Chrome extension avoids the bot for Google Meet by capturing the tab, which is closer to how Recordist works, but the audio still goes to Supernormal's cloud for processing.
Recordist never joins a call on any platform and never needs a browser extension to record; the optional Chrome extension only supplies meeting titles for browser calls. Detection is through the operating system, and nothing is recorded until you click Record on the confirm card.
Where the audio goes
Supernormal transcribes and summarises on its servers and stores the transcript and notes in your workspace, from where they sync to your CRM. That makes sharing easy and makes Supernormal a processor of your meeting content, governed by its privacy policy and retention settings.
Recordist writes audio to your disk, transcribes it there with Whisper, and generates notes locally by default. There is no workspace and no server. The Privacy Ledger shows every outbound request; on the default setup nothing about your meetings is on it. Getting notes into another system is an export you configure yourself.
Price and limits
Supernormal has a free plan with a limited number of meetings per month. Pro is about $18 per user per month and adds unlimited meetings, CRM sync and custom templates; Business adds admin and security features at a higher per-user price.
Recordist Free is unlimited recording, transcription, search and Prep Briefs with 14 days of Pro, then 3 AI notes a month. Pro is $6 a month or $48 a year with unlimited notes, templates, all exports and full agent access; Team is $9 per user per month with shared templates and org policy.
Agent access and offline use
Supernormal's integrations are CRM-shaped. There is no MCP server, no agent card and no local API; an agent that wants your meetings needs to go through Supernormal's cloud, if at all.
Recordist ships an MCP server and an A2A agent card on your own computer, so Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor or your own agent can search and read meetings directly. Everything, including recording and transcription, works offline. Supernormal needs a connection for the bot to join and for anything to be processed.
When Supernormal is the better choice
If your notes must land in HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive in a specific shape without anyone touching them, Supernormal is built for that and Recordist is not. If you need a shared team workspace where managers review call notes, Supernormal's Business plan provides it. And if you want coverage of meetings you cannot attend, a bot is the only way.
