Recordist writes up client calls, and the record stays with the person who made it. We are looking for people who start things on their own, question how things are usually done, and want to look back and see what they made happen.

    You work directly with the people who design and build Recordist. Nothing sits between what you hear from a customer and what we change next.

    AI where it helps

    We use AI every day for research, first drafts and keeping track of what was said, and you will too. A person makes every call that matters, to customers and to you.

    Written down

    We build software that keeps the record, and we work the same way. Plans, decisions and feedback are written down, so nothing depends on who remembers what.

    On your schedule

    You shape your own week. What counts is what you get done and what you learn.

    Consent first

    By default Recordist asks before it records, and we hold ourselves to the same standard. Nobody is recorded or quoted without agreeing.

How hiring works

Four steps, and you always hear back.

    You apply

    Follow the steps on the role you choose, and email us your answers and what you noticed on a call with Recordist.

  2. 02

    We reply

    A person reads your application, and you hear from us within two business days, whatever the answer.

  3. 03

    We talk

    A video call with the founder. Everyone is asked the same questions, and there is nothing extra to prepare.

  4. 04

    We decide

    You hear from us within two weeks of the call. If it is a yes, we agree in writing how we will work together, and you start.

If you need an accommodation at any step, tell us and we will arrange it.

Questions

What people ask before they apply.

Do I need experience?
No. Curiosity, care with facts and the habit of starting things matter more to us than a long résumé. If you do not match every line in a role, apply anyway.
I am a student. Can I apply?
Yes. Students and recent graduates are welcome in every role. If your Ontario college or university program offers credit for a placement, look at the internship.
Where can I work from?
From home, wherever suits you in Canada. The internship is for students at Ontario schools who live in Ontario.
Why do you ask me to use Recordist?
Because nobody can speak well for something they have not tried. One call of about 30 minutes is enough. If Recordist will not run on your laptop, tell us and we will give you a different task.
How do you use AI when you hire?
AI tools help us organize applications and draft our replies. A person reads every application, holds every conversation and makes every decision.
What happens to my application?
We use it only to decide on your application, and we never share it or publish it. We keep it for 12 months after we decide, then delete it, or sooner if you ask.
I do not see a role for me.

Recordist for Mac is downloading.

Thank you for trying Recordist. Three small steps and it is ready before your next call. Open it now, so it is set up in time.

  1. 1Open the download and drag Recordist to Applications, then open it from there.
  2. 2Allow the microphone and system audio when your Mac asks, so both sides of the call are heard. Calendar is optional: it names your meetings and who is in them.
  3. 3Close the window when you like. Recordist waits in the menu bar and, when your next call starts, asks: Record this meeting? Nothing is recorded until you say yes.

The first time it opens, Recordist downloads its speech model: 142 MB in English, 466 MB for other languages. That usually takes a minute or two, and you can record once it finishes. The notes engine, 1 to 3 GB, follows in the background.
