If you like talking to people and want to learn how a product finds the people who need it, this is a good place to do it. You work directly with the people who build Recordist, and what you bring in shapes what comes next.
Recordist writes up client calls, and the record stays with the person who made it. Nothing joins the call as a bot, and the audio never reaches us. By default it asks before it records. People use it on Mac, Windows and Linux and in Chrome.
The role
This is a part-time, independent role. You choose your hours, your pace and how you work. Results are what count here, not hours. Students and recent graduates are welcome.
What you will do
- Find professionals and firms who should hear about Recordist: HR and recruiting leads, consultants, accountants, advisers and coaches
- Start real conversations with them, one person at a time
- Show them Recordist on a call, and follow up
- Tell the people who build Recordist what buyers ask for and what puts them off
What success looks like
- In your first month, you know Recordist well enough to show it in 15 minutes, and you know which professionals need it most
- By your second month, you are in real conversations every week and showing Recordist to people who could buy it
- By your third month, people are using Recordist because of you, and you can explain what worked and why
You will do well here if
- You start things without waiting to be asked
- You would rather try, learn and adjust than wait for a perfect plan
- You question how things are usually done, and you have ideas for doing them better
- You listen more than you talk
- You want to look back in a year and point at something you made happen
You do not need to match every line above. If this sounds like you, apply. We would rather hear from you than miss you.
What you get
- Your own schedule and your own pace
- Direct work with the people who design and build Recordist, with nobody in between
- A real say in the product, because what you hear from buyers changes what we build
- If you want, professional events and meetups in your city, as the face of Recordist
How to apply
- Follow Recordist on LinkedIn and X, and read a few of our posts. Question 4 below asks about them.
- Download Recordist and use it on at least one real call or meeting, ideally about 30 minutes, where everyone on the call has agreed to be recorded. A practice call with a friend counts.
- Press Apply now. It opens an email to careers@recordist.app with the five questions, a few quick details and room for your feedback, all laid out. Fill it in, attach your resume or a cover letter (PDF or Word), and send it.
Please do not send the recording or the transcript. If Recordist will not run on your laptop, tell us and we will give you another task.
The five questions
- Tell us about something you started on your own, without anyone asking you to. What happened?
- Tell us about a time you thought the usual way of doing something was wrong. What did you do about it?
- A year from now, what would you want to point to and say "I made that happen"?
- What is one thing we posted on LinkedIn or X that you would push back on, and why?
- Who would you bring Recordist to first, and why them?
Who can apply
Anyone who can hold a professional conversation and write clearly in English. French is welcome. You need your own laptop and a quiet place for calls.
