Recordist 1.0 · 18 October 2026
1.0 is the version we stand behind for your client calls: notarised by Apple, able to repair its own library, and answered within one business day when you write to us.
Free, with no account. On Windows and Linux the download is the preview, 0.3.15.
For you
Recordist is out of beta. The Terms are version 5, in effect from 18 October 2026, with the privacy notice updated the same day.
Signed with a Developer ID and checked by Apple before it reaches you. Every update is signed with our own key.
After a crash, a forced quit or a full disk, an interrupted recording gets its end, its length and its audio back. The repair runs at every launch, and nothing is deleted.
Support replies within one business day, and every security report is acknowledged within three.
On from the first call
Nothing to switch on. These are on from the first call on a Mac.
01
When the call ends, a card holds the first decision, what you owe and what you’re owed, each one a press away from the words, while the audio is kept.
02
Two lists, You owe and You’re owed, in the words each promise was made in. Tick one done and Recordist offers a short note to the other person, as a draft in your own mail.
03
The record card leads with the meeting’s name and says where it came from. A series keeps the title you gave it.
04
When the other side is still “Speaker”, one tap names them from the meeting’s invite. Names come from the invite or your tap, never from a voice.
05
Add the clients and products you want spelled correctly. The people on each invite are added for that call.
06
The menu bar says your day in one line: your calls, their time, and the promises you owe tomorrow.
Yours to turn on
Other new features are off until you choose them, and an organisation can keep them off on the Macs it manages. Every change in 1.0
To everyone who used Recordist before it was 1.0:
Windows and Linux
They are built from the same code and are free to download today as a preview. They move to 1.0 once they pass the same release checks.
As you said on the call:
Already have Recordist on a Mac? It offers 1.0 at its next update check.
Wren · Recordist's support assistant (AI)
It answers from the Help Center and isn't a human.
Hi, I'm Wren, Recordist's AI support assistant. I'm not a person; I answer from Recordist's help articles and docs. Ask me what Recordist can never see, how to check a note against the call, or how refunds work. Want a person? Choose "Talk to a human" at any time and someone at Recordist replies within one business day.
What I can't do: see anything on your computer or reach your recordings, issue refunds, or make commitments on Recordist's behalf. What I say about recording laws is general information, not legal advice. Please don't paste transcripts or audio here; I don't need them, and support never asks for your transcripts or meeting audio.
