If you are the person who always knows who should meet whom, this role puts that to work. You find the groups professionals already trust and make the introduction that brings Recordist to them.
Recordist writes up client calls, and the record stays with the person who made it. Nothing joins the call as a bot, and the audio never reaches us. By default it asks before it records. People use it on Mac, Windows and Linux and in Chrome, and it connects to Claude.
The role
This is a part-time, independent role. You choose your hours, your pace and how you work. Associations, schools, communities and the apps people already work in can introduce Recordist to the right professionals far better than we can on our own. You find them, make the case, and carry the conversation. What you earn is commission on the customers your partners bring, so results are what count here, not hours. The commission terms are set out in a short written agreement before you start. Students and recent graduates are welcome.
What you will do
- Map the organizations professionals listen to: associations and their chapters, colleges and universities, newsletters and communities, and the apps our users already work in
- Work out what each one cares about and why Recordist would matter to its members
- Write proposals the other side can say yes to, and carry the conversation to a clear next step
- Tell the people who build Recordist what partners ask for
What success looks like
- In your first month, you have a map of the organizations that matter most and a short note on why each one fits
- By your second month, you are in real conversations with several of them
- By your third month, at least one partner is introducing Recordist to its members, and you can explain what made it work
You will do well here if
- You naturally connect people and ideas
- You start things without waiting to be asked, and you follow up
- You read closely and notice what an organization actually cares about
- You question how partnerships are usually done, and you have better ideas
- You want to look back in a year and point at something you made happen
You do not need to match every line above. If this sounds like you, apply. We would rather hear from you than miss you.
What you get
- Commission on every customer your partners bring
- Your own schedule and your own pace
- Direct work with the people who design and build Recordist, with nobody in between
- A real say in where Recordist goes next
- If you want, professional events and meetups in your city, as the face of Recordist
How to apply
- Follow Recordist on LinkedIn and X, and read a few of our posts. Question 4 below asks about them.
- Download Recordist and use it on at least one real call or meeting, ideally about 30 minutes, where everyone on the call has agreed to be recorded. A practice call with a friend counts.
- Press Apply now. It opens an email to careers@recordist.app with the five questions, a few quick details and room for your feedback, all laid out. Fill it in, attach your resume or a cover letter (PDF or Word), and send it.
Please do not send the recording or the transcript. If Recordist will not run on your laptop, tell us and we will give you another task.
The five questions
- Tell us about something you started on your own, without anyone asking you to. What happened?
- Tell us about a time you thought the usual way of doing something was wrong. What did you do about it?
- A year from now, what would you want to point to and say "I made that happen"?
- What is one thing we posted on LinkedIn or X that you would push back on, and why?
- Which organization would you approach first to introduce Recordist to its members, and why that one?
Who can apply
Anyone who can hold a professional conversation and write clearly in English. French is welcome. You need your own laptop and a quiet place for calls.
