Early-access draw: official rules

No purchase is needed to enter or win. Asking for early access is the entry, wherever in the world you are. These are the full rules, written to be read. Found this after the draw closed? Asking for a place still works; you'll simply be in the next wave.

1. Sponsor. Havihi Digital Inc., 2 McMillan Pl, Welland, Ontario L3B 0L5, Canada ("we"). Questions: [email protected].
2. Entry period. From 26 September 2026 until the day we announce the public launch of Recordist on recordist.app, and no later than 31 March 2027. The early-access page says the same.
3. Who can enter. Anyone, in any country, who has reached the age of majority where they live. Employees and contractors of the Sponsor, and members of their households, can't enter. Where local law doesn't allow a draw like this, that part doesn't apply to you, but your request for early access still counts and nothing else changes.
4. How to enter. Submit a valid email address on the early-access form at recordist.app during the entry period. That's one entry. You can also enter without the form by emailing [email protected] with the subject "Early access draw"; that counts the same. One entry per person and per email address, however you enter. There is no way to earn a second entry, and telling a friend about Recordist changes nothing about the draw for either of you.
5. Prizes. 50 prizes. Each prize is a twelve-month Recordist Pro membership for one person, delivered as a licence key by email, usable in any country where the app runs. Approximate retail value: US$48 each, US$2,400 in total. A prize can't be transferred, exchanged or taken as cash. If a winner already pays for Pro, the twelve months are added to the end of their current term. Any tax on a prize is the winner's responsibility where local law says so.
6. How winners are chosen. Within 14 days after the entry period ends, we draw 50 entries at random from all eligible entries, using a documented random process, at our office in Welland, Ontario. Your odds depend on how many eligible entries there are.
7. Skill-testing question (Canada only). Canadian law asks for this one step: a selected entrant who lives in Canada must first correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question without help, sent by email. Entrants elsewhere skip it.
8. Notification and claiming. We email selected entrants at the address they entered with. A selected entrant has 14 days to reply and confirm eligibility; if they don't, or if they're ineligible, the prize is forfeited and we draw another entry. We'll email winners their licence key within 14 days of confirmation.
9. Your information. We use your email and, if you gave it, your first name to run the draw and to send early-access invitations. We keep it until the draw is complete and invitations have gone out, then for up to 12 months in case of a dispute, and you can ask us to delete it sooner. We never sell it, and we share it only with the providers that store it and send the emails, as the Privacy Policy describes.
10. Winners' names. We publish nothing about winners. You may ask for the list of winners by first name and city, where the winner has agreed, by writing to [email protected] within 60 days of the draw.
11. General. We may disqualify an entry that is automated, duplicated or fraudulent, and we may cancel or change the draw if it can't run as planned for reasons outside our control, in which case we'll say so on the early-access page. Our decisions on the running of the draw are final. Entering is free and doesn't create any obligation to buy or use anything.
12. Law. These rules are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without taking away any protection you have under the consumer law of the place you live. The draw isn't sponsored, endorsed or administered by any platform through which you may hear about it.
