Promises are made everywhere
The arrow keys move between the places.
Recordist understands them too: it transcribes in dozens of languages, with nothing uploaded.
Most promises float away. The ones in your client calls don’t have to.
Recordist keeps the record.
The promise
Your calls stay yours. We have nowhere to keep them.

01
You decide, every call.
By default, a small card asks when a call starts: Record this meeting? Nothing is recorded until you say yes.
-
02
Just the people you invited.
Recordist records your own microphone and the call’s sound. Nothing is added to the participant list, and nobody has to let a stranger in.
-
03
The record stays with you.
Your recordings, transcripts and notes stay with you, never with us. Recordist has no server that could hold them.
If you choose a cloud AI provider for notes, the transcript goes straight from Recordist to that provider under your own account. That is your choice, off by default, and listed in the Privacy Ledger. On a Mac your organisation manages, it can choose to archive each meeting to its own storage. We never receive it.

The Memory Test · 40 seconds
Can you remember what your client promised three weeks ago?
Try it in 40 seconds. One client call, heard once, then three questions from memory. If a minute is hard, three weeks is harder. It runs in your browser, and your answers are never sent anywhere.
Before you decide
Five questions people ask us.
Five plain answers.
- Does it record without asking?
Not by default. When a call starts, a small card asks: Record this meeting? Nothing is recorded until you say yes.
How the card works- Where does my client’s audio go?
Nowhere. It is written to a folder of your own and transcribed in the app. We have no server that could hold it.
What the app sends out- Do I need an account?
No. Download it and your next call can be on the record. Pro is a licence key the app checks offline.
How buying Pro works- What happens when I stop paying?
Pro runs to the end of the period you paid for. Then the app goes on recording, transcribing and searching for free, and everything you made stays with you.
How to cancel- Can I leave with my data?
Yes. Export any meeting as Markdown, text, SRT, VTT or JSON, and delete everything whenever you choose.

A word from the team
No ads. No sales team chasing you.
Recordist is made by a small, self-funded team in Canada. We’d rather spend every dollar on the app than on ads. You found us because someone cared enough to share it, and that’s how we hope to grow.
So we built it the way we’d want it built for us: nothing joins your calls, by default it asks first, the record stays with you, and you can leave any time with everything you made. If it makes your day easier, that’s the whole point.
As you said on the call:
“I’ll get you the revised scope by Thursday.”
00:16While the audio is kept, hear it said.
Never write it from memory again.
